PPPoE Encapsulation

The Business Secure Router supports PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over
Ethernet). You can only use PPPoE encapsulation when you are using the
Business Secure Router with a DSL modem as the WAN device. If you change
the Encapsulation to PPPoE, you then see
"PPPoE," on page 227

Description
If you are using PPPoE encapsulation, then type the
name of your PPPoE service here. Only valid with
PPPoE encapsulation.
This field is applicable for PPPoE encapsulation only.
Enter the logon name assigned by your ISP when the
Business Secure Router calls this remote node. Some
ISPs append this field to the Service Name field above
(e.g., jim@poellc) to access the PPPoE server.
Enter the password assigned by your ISP when the
Business Secure Router calls this remote node. Valid for
PPPoE encapsulation only.
Type your password again to make sure that you have
entered it correctly.
This field is valid only when Road Runner is selected in
the Service Type field. The Business Secure Router
finds the Road Runner Server IP automatically if this field
is left blank. If it does not, then you must enter the
authentication server IP address here.
This field refers to the protocol that is routed by your
Business Secure Router.
This field leads to a "hidden" menu. Press [SPACE BAR]
to select Yes and press [ENTER] to go to Menu 11.1.2 -
Remote Node Network Layer Options.
This field leads to another "hidden" menu. Use
[SPACE BAR] to select Yes and press [ENTER] to open
menu 11.1.4 to edit the filter sets. See
filter" on page 77
for more details.
After you configure this menu, press [ENTER] at the
message "Press ENTER to Confirm..." to save your
configuration, or press [ESC] at any time to cancel.
