Lubrication

This mill/drill requires regular lubrication to main-
tain smooth movement and ensure long-lasting
operation. Components not covered in this sec-
tion are sealed and internally lubricated for life.

The headstock has the proper amount of oil when
the sight glass shown in Figure 48 is halfway full.
Follow federal, state, and local require-
ments for proper disposal of used oil.
Tools Needed
Wrench 24mm ................................................... 1
Hex Wrench 6mm .............................................. 1
Drain Pan (1 Gallon or larger) ........................... 1
Funnel ................................................................ 1
To change headstock oil:
1.
Run spindle at 600 RPM for approximately 10
minutes to warm oil.
2.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!

Unlatch and open motor cover.
4.
Remove oil fill plug (see Figure 48).

5.
Place a 1-gallon or larger drain pan on table
under headstock.
6.
Remove drain plug (see Figure 49) and allow
oil to drain into pan.

7.
Replace drain plug.
8.
Place funnel in oil fill hole. Add oil until sight
glass is halfway full (see Figure 48).
9.
Replace oil fill plug and close motor cover.
10. Clean up any spilled oil to reduce slipping
hazards.
