Connecting External Current Transformers (CTs)

If the nominal motor current I
mary current flow in a smaller secondary current according to the transmission ratio. This smaller current is then measured from
the UMC100.3. With the parameter Current Factor the current transformer transmission ratio can be configured. So the UMC100.3
knows the actually flowing primary current which is then used for the internal processing. The current transformers CT4L/5L are
available as accessories for the UMC100.3.
For the connection between CT and UMC use wires with a cross section of 2.5 mm² at a distance < 2 m. The burden
of the CTs has to be below 60 mW. If the supervision of the phase order is active or a voltage module should be
used:
• take care of the correct phase sequence and feed through direction of the main motor wires through the CT4L/5L
• take care of the correct phase sequence and feed through direction of the wires between CT4L/5L and UMC.
