Problem
Keyboard works intermittently
or not at all.
Printer does not power up
when turned on.
Screen freezes
Printer will not feed labels.
Faint print on labels.
No print on the label.

Use the following table to troubleshoot problems. In situations where the printer displays
an error message, follow the instructions on the touch screen.
One or more keys is stuck in
depressed state.
Power cord has been pulled out of
printer or wall socket.
User Interface error
The leading edge of the label roll
is not inserted correctly.
The leading edge of the label roll
is uneven or torn (not a straight
edge).
Ribbon not advancing correctly.
Print energy might be too low.
The label or ribbon is not loaded
correctly or out of ribbon.
Cause
Corrective Action
Identify any keys stuck in down
position. Repress key to unstick.
Clean the keyboard (see
"Cleaning Residue from Printer
and Keyboard" on page 83).
Check power cord.
1. Press Sleep/Wake
2. After printer goes to sleep,
press Sleep/Wake
If that doesn't work:
1. Turn off the power switch on
the side of the printer.
2. Wait five seconds and then
turn the power switch on.
Install the media correctly
Cut a straight leading edge on
the label roll.
Tension the ribbon by rotating
the rewind spool (top spool) in
a downward direction until all
slack is removed.
Try another ribbon cartridge.
Adjust the print-energy setting
(see "Adjusting Print Energy" on
page 70).
Reinstall the ribbon cartridge.
Load a new ribbon.
