Types of Transmission
There are two types of transmission.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Memory Transmission
When a fax message is stored in
memory , then transmission starts
automatically. It is convenient
when you would like to take docu-
ments back in a hurry.
You can send the same message to
more than one destination in a sin-
gle operation. This technique is re-
ferred to as Broadcasting.
Transmitter (This machine)
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Immediate Transmission
The machine dials immediately, and
transmits the fax while scanning.
It is convenient when you would
like to send a message immediate-
ly, and would like to check wheth-
er you have successfully connected
with the other party's fax machine.
A fax message is not stored in
memory.

Important
❒ If there is a power failure, the pow-
er switch is turned off, or the plug
is pulled out for more than 12
hours (without optional memory),
all files stored in memory are de-
leted. As soon as power is restored,
the Power Failure Report is print-
ed to help you identify deleted
files. See Chapter 8, "Power Fail-
ure Report" in the Advanced Fea-
tures manual.
