Operating Environment

Use the following guidelines when operating the printer:
Operating temperature
Operating humidity
Using the printer in areas that are cooler than the recommended temperatures can cause
retransfer errors. Using the printer in areas that are warmer than the recommended
temperatures can cause cards to warp and retransfer film errors.

Storage Environment

If you are storing the printer for an extended length of time, remove the ink ribbon and retransfer
film, and use the following storage guidelines:

Storage humidity

Secure Printing Requirements

The printer uses advanced TLS 1.1 and 1.2 encryption that supports the AES-256 (Advanced
Encryption Standard) and 3DES (Triple Data Encryption Standard).
Secure printing consists of encrypting print commands and card data and transmitting the
information securely from the PC to the printer. Printers are shipped with all communication
protocols (secure and non-secure) enabled. Refer to
about using the Printer Manager interface to specify printer security settings.
If you use the Card Printer Driver, make sure that the secure printing protocol (DPCL2Secure) is
enabled and that the DPCL2 non-secure communication protocol is disabled. DPCL must remain
enabled for the Card Printer Driver to function. For more information, refer to your printer's
Driver Guide.
If your card production site requires secure printing, use the following:
An Entrust Datacard CR805 card printer with secure printing enabled

A PC that meets the PC requirements cited in

An Ethernet or USB connection that meet the requirements

A current browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome

