16.2 Port Security
Port securit y allows only packet s wit h dynam ically learned MAC addresses and/ or configured st at ic
MAC addresses t o pass t hrough a port on t he Swit ch. The Swit ch can learn up t o 8K MAC addresses
in t ot al wit h no lim it on individual port s; syst em t ot al MAC address ent ry is 8K. St at ic MAC address
st ill can be configured when port securit y is enabled; t he funct ion of port securit y is concerned wit h
dynam ic m ac address learn act ion. When t ot al MAC address ent ry is 8k, st at ic MAC can't be
configured.
