29.5 DoS
The Swit ch prot ect s against Denial of Service ( DoS) at t acks, such as Scan at t ack and Ping of Deat h.
The goal of DoS at t acks is not t o st eal inform at ion, but t o disable a device or net work on t he
I nt ernet .
By default , t he DoS feat ure is disabled. You need t o enable it on t he Swit ch and it s port ( s) . See
Table 148 on page 190
feat ure. You cannot set t he Swit ch t o block a specific t ype of DoS at t acks.
