After selecting a proper child
restraint system and a good place to
install the restraint system, there are
three main steps in installing the
restraint system:
1. Properly secure the child restraint
system to the vehicle.

to the vehicle with the lap belt or
the lap part of a lap/shoulder belt
or with the lower anchorages
system. A child whose restraint
system is not properly secured to
the vehicle can be endangered in a
crash.
If you use a lap/shoulder belt, be
