5.
When a language card is installed and the system powered up, the system will automati-
cally check to ensure that the version of the application software matches the version of
the prompts on the language card before the language loading process begins. If the two
versions match, language loading will begin automatically. If there is a mismatch, the LED
indicator will begin to blink on and off in Cadence 5 (defined in Appendix E, "Status Indica-
tor Cadences"). This cadence indicates a version mismatch condition, and the load will
abort.
Note that if a port expansion card is already installed in the expansion card slot, you will need
to remove it before you can install a language card.
To remove an expansion card:
1.
Make sure Office PhoneMail is turned off. You do this by unplugging the power cord.
2.
Press the eject button on the top of the card.
The expansion card will be released from its position, but will not pop out very far.
3.
Place a finger on either edge of the card and slide it out.
If you now turn on Office PhoneMail without the expansion card in the system,
Office PhoneMail will be able to operate normally. However, if a user tries to interact
with a recording stored on the missing card, Office PhoneMail will play an error tone.
To install a language card:
1.
If you have not already done so in order to remove a previously installed expansion
card, perform the system shutdown procedure described in Section 10.1, "Shutting
Down the System for Upgrading", on page 10-1.
Caution
!
Office PhoneMail must be powered down during installation of the language card. If
you insert the card into the system while it is operating, Office PhoneMail will either
ignore the card or immediately stop working.
2.
Hold the card so that the labeled side faces toward you.
3.
Slide the card into the language card slot at the top of Office PhoneMail right side (see
Figure 10-1 on page 10-4).
4.
Turn on the Office PhoneMail system by re-inserting the power cord.
The status indicator will begin to blink on and off in the Cadence 3 pattern described
in Appendix E, "Status Indicator Cadences." This cadence indicates that the system
is waiting to begin to load the language.
