Changing System Settings

As system administrator, you can modify your Office PhoneMail system setup at any time. This
chapter shows you how to:
Change or reset the system administration password.
Reset user mailbox passwords.
Set the Auto Attendant's parameters.
Change the number of retry attempts for offsite message notification (OMN).
Change the retry interval for OMN.
Change the feature access code for message waiting indication (MWI).
Change the call progress tone plan.
Reset a single system parameter to its initial default value.
Reset all system parameters to their default values.
Reset the database.
Change the fax cover page prefacing fax-on-demand documents (optional).
Modify fax-on-demand and fax overflow parameters (optional).

Changing the Administrator Password

As system administrator, you perform administration functions by logging into your mailbox,
pressing at the subscriber or guest mailbox menu, and entering the administration password.

By default, this password is 79723646 (SYSADMIN), but you can change this at any time.
From a security standpoint, it is a good idea to change your password frequently. If you should
ever forget the system administration password, simply see the next section for information on
resetting the password to its default setting.
To change the system administration password:
1. Log into your mailbox.
