Your nook does not assume that you want to download all of the content in your library to
your nook. It downloads content when you ask it to, or when you ask to read it.

An Unregistered nook

Fewer features are supported on an unregistered nook than on a registered one. On an
unregistered nook:
You can browse the Store, but not buy anything (including free eBooks and samples). If you
try to buy something, you will be prompted to register.
You can read, but not bookmark, highlight, annotate, rate, or recommend.
You can manage personal files and listen to music and audiobooks.
You do not receive in-store special offers, and cannot read eContent for free in a retail
store.

Deregistering your nook

You should not need to deregister your device. But there are some cases when you might
want to:
You are giving your nook to a family member or friend, but you do not want that person to
make purchases.
You plan to sell your device.
