In the Package

The package the nook comes in contains four things:
Your nook

 A charger that can be plugged into an electrical outlet. It has a polarized type-A plug for
use in North America. One prong is wider than the other, and the plug only fits in the
outlet one way. The standard-A plug on the USB cable (the big end) fits into the charger,
to connect the charger to your nook.
A USB cable for transferring files to and from a personal computer, and for USB and wall

charging. The USB cable has a micro-B plug on the nook end and a standard-A plug on the
computer end. It is shielded against electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference, a
prerequisite for high-speed data transfers.
 A printed Quick Start Guide
The battery is preinstalled in the nook.
You can save the package as a convenient place to store your nook when not in use, and as an
inner shipping box in the event you need to send your nook in for repairs or replacement.
