Practice List Closures
Screen
Description
The Current Practice List Closures (EL) screen displays a summary of all current, that is,

"future", "active" or "suspended" List Closures.
The Specify/View Practice List Closures (PC-C) screen allows you to record that a
PC-C
Practice's List is closed. If a Practice has either a "future" or "current" List Closure
recorded against it, the detail of this list closure will be displayed; it no "future" or
"current" List Closure is recorded, a blank input screen will be displayed.
PC-CH
The Practice List Closure History (PC-CH) screen allows you to view a history of Patient
List Closures for a particular practice. List closures are displayed in reverse
chronological order.
Patient Assignments

Description
AH
The Patient Practice/GP History (AH) screen displays an individual patient's registration
history. This includes both assignment and non-assignment registrations for the patient.
Where a registration represents an assignment additional information is shown.
AQ
The Patient Assignment Enquiry (AQ) screen allows enquiries to be run on Patient
Assignment data. Enquiries can be run for the whole database, or by PCO or practice, in
the form of counts or detailed patient assignment information.
Interaction with the Personal Demographics Service (PDS)
Screen
Description
The AR Screen allows you to perform a search on the data in the PDS Allocations

Queue using specific criteria.
The BB screen will identify and display a list of patients on an NHAIS system where the
BB
first forename is temporary. It will also indicate whether the PDS still holds the same
value or now has a likely, true first forename.
BQ
The purpose of the BQ screen is to report on conditions which occur for background
processes when updating patient records. These conditions occur when attempting to
update the PDS, but because of data issues the update cannot be performed.
ID
In addition to the functionality described earlier, the ID screen interacts with PDS as part
of the process for obtaining NHS Numbers. This chapter details how NHAIS systems
interact with the PDS in order to obtain an NHS Number for every patient who is
registering, either without an NHS Number or with an old format NHS Number, for
patients already known to the NHS and who have been issued a 10-digit NHS Number.
Note:
this chapter also covers the interaction between the HA/GP Links Registration
screen LX and analysis job AJ-BOAJ.
The PX screen allows you to enter a patient's details to start a stand-alone trace of their
PX
details as held on the Personal Demographics Service (PDS).
The SN Update NHS Number screen allows the update of an NHAIS system NHS

number with an NHS number from the PDS.
The UP Update PDS Patient Details screen allows you to update the PDS system with
UP
patient details from NHAIS system patient details.
The UQ screen allows you to perform a search on the data in the PDS Update Queue
UQ
using specific criteria.

This screen displays records for patients for which registration transactions are expected
because the patient was deducted with type R/A on another NHAIS system and the
current system's cipher or Q code was entered as the new HA of registration.
