Registration Reference Manual
J – Parameter Options for M/R Label: 1st Acceptance,
Births, Immigrant and Ex-Service
Medical Record labels are to be attached to the MRE (Medical Record Envelope).
They will contain registration information.
Use this screen to specify the order in which the labels are printed.
Whichever print sequence you choose, the label details will remain the same. They
will be produced in sex order, starting with males, females and lastly indeterminates;
each sex group will be separated by a row of starred labels.
Processing
If the link between the HA and NHSCR is open, then each patient registered on the
HA database via the ID screen with addition codes 1–5 will have core registration
details forwarded to NHSCR via the link for attempted matching.
If a patient has been registered with the addition code 1, 2, 4 and 5, and NHSCR can
find no record of a previous registration, then patient details will be passed to the
Label print preparation file.
If a patient has been registered with the addition code 3, and NHSCR cannot provide a
previous HA cipher, then NHSCR will recommend that the patient is registered as a 2.
If the HA accepts the amendment, details will be passed to the label application.

3 – Transfer in
4 – Immigrant
5 – Ex-Services
Labels can be printed when required, probably on a daily basis.
PRINT PREPARATION is controlled by the RP screen.
PRINTING is controlled by the RR screen.
