This is a read-only field which displays the PCO of Residence corresponding to the
patient's postcode. The displayed value represents the national PCO Code of the PCO
having geographic responsibility for the postcode recorded against the patient. For a
patient with no postcode or a postcode that is not currently included within the
Postcode-to-PCO Code Mapping file, a value of "UNK" (Unknown) will be
displayed.
The following points should be noted:
• If a patient has no postcode, a value of "UNK" (Unknown) is displayed for the
PCO of Residence.
• If a patient has a postcode that is not represented in the new Postcode-to-PCO
Code Mapping file, a value of "UNK" will be displayed for the PCO of
Residence.
• If a patient has a postcode that is represented on the new Postcode-to-PCO
Code Mapping file, the corresponding PCO Code value will be displayed for
PCO of Residence.
Resp. PCO
This is a read-only field which displays the PCO of Responsibility corresponding to
the patient's GP of Registration. The displayed value represents the national PCO
Code of the PCO having responsibility for the Practice to which the patient's GP is
currently related.
The following points about this field should be noted:
• If PC and/or HG screen relationship information is such that it is not possible
to ascertain the PCO Code corresponding to the patient's GP as of today's
date, a value of "UNK" (Unknown) will be displayed for PCO of
Responsibility.
• If PC and/or HG screen relationship information is such that it is possible to
ascertain the PCO Code corresponding to the patient's GP as of today's date,
the corresponding PCO Code value will be displayed for PCO of
Responsibility.
NOTE
Both the PCO of Residence and Responsible PCO fields do not appear if
you enter the ID screen with a blank qualifier. The correct values for a
patient newly registered on the ID screen will only be displayed on the
final redisplay of the screen after update.
Also note that if the ID screen for an existing patient is amended the
(potentially revised) values for PCO of Residence and PCO of
Responsibility will only be displayed on the final redisplay of the screen
after update.
Removing a Demolished Address Flag
Addresses which have been flagged as demolished on the PAF are shown with the
letters DA displayed in inverse video between the Postcode and Actn. fields. The
address can be 'undemolished' by removing this flag.
NOTES
You should only remove the demolished flag if you are confident that the
flag is an error.
