Aware with Projected and Non-Projected
Boards
Aware works both with and without a projector. Without a projector, all
notes written in dry erase markers on the SMART Board appear
simultaneously as notes both in the whiteboard application on the
monitor attached to your local Board and all remote monitors as well.
With a projector, notes transmitted from remote sites appear directly on
your SMART Board, giving you a fully interactive, shared workspace.
Projection also gives the presenter touch control of the software. The
presenter simply presses on the Board with his finger to open meeting
files and annotate documents. Of course, he can also record notes for
other sites to see simply by picking up a pen and writing in the
whiteboard portion of NetMeeting, for example.

Aware Online Help

Aware runs as a background application while the SMART Board driver
software is active. Therefore, online Help specific to the various third-
party applications listed above is available as a major topic in the
SMART Board driver Help. If you choose to make the Aware window
visible (select Aware Settings from the Board menu, then check Show
Aware), you can also access Aware Help from the Aware Help menu.
Aware Help contains detailed instructions on how to use and configure
the SMART Board Pen Tray tools with each conferencing application in
projected and/or non-projected mode. We recommend you read the
portion of Aware Help that applies to your particular conferencing
application for specific instructions on Pen Tray tool use.
Running Third-Party Conferencing
Applications on the Board
When you run any of the six third-party conferencing applications listed
above as Board-aware programs, keep the following points in mind:
SMART Aware makes the whiteboarding component only of
third-party conferencing applications Board-aware.
