3. Select Ungroup from the Draw menu.
The grouped object disappears, and is broken down into its
original object components, now appearing as individually
selected objects.

Protecting Objects from Further Editing

An object or an entire group of objects can be protected from
subsequent editing with the Send to Back command on the Draw menu.
This command has the effect of moving selected objects into the virtual
background, out of reach of the Select tool and any further change. If
you decide you want to restore all protected objects to the foreground for
further revision, select Bring to Front from the Draw menu.
To protect an object or object group from editing:
1. Click the Select button in any Notebook Toolbar and move the
arrow cursor over the object or object group you want to protect.
2. Click the arrow cursor.
The object will appear enclosed in a selection rectangle.
3. Select Send to Back from the Draw menu.
or
Right-mouse click on the selected object(s) and select Send to
Back.
The object will no longer be selectable.
4. Reverse the effect of this command by selecting Bring to Front
from the Draw menu.
All objects on the page will be restored to the foreground for
subsequent selection.
