Connecting AC Power

To connect a switch to the AC power source proceed as follows:
1. Plug the power cord into the switch AC power connector.
2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a dedicated grounded AC outlet (not shown). The
type of power outlet and power cord are country-dependent.
3. Observe the power CPU LED (not shown), located on the front panel. During the
initialization, the CPU LED will start by illuminating solid amber, then start blinking green,
then blinking amber, then blinking green again until the end of the initialization, and then
turns solid green.
It will take approximately 30 seconds for the switch to start up.

Installing and Connecting a Redundant Power System

You can use the one of the following redundant power supplies with these respective switches:
• 08A-RPS-150P, a 150 Watt redundant power supply for non-PoE+ 800-Series models. This RPS
can be used together with the 08H20G4-24, 08H20G4-48, 08G20G4-24, and 08G20G4-48. See
"08A-RPS-150P" on page 2-21 for installation of the 08A-RPS-150P.
• 08A-RPS-500, a 500 Watt redundant power supply for PoE+ 800-Series models. This RPS can
be used together with the 08H20G4-24P, 08H20G4-48P, 08G20G4-24P, and 08G20G4-48P. See
"08A-RPS-500" on page 2-29 for installation of the 08A-RPS-500
• 08A-RPS-24, a 36 Watt redundant power supply. This RPS can be used together with the
08G20G2-08.
• 08A-RPS-130P, a 135 Watt redundant power supply. This RPS can be used together with the
08G20G2-08P.

08A-RPS-150P

The 08A-RPS-150P can be used as a standalone unit, or you can install an 08A-RPS-150P in the
following RPS shelves:
• STK-RPS-150CH2, a two-slot chassis
• STK-RPS-150CH8, an eight-slot chassis
If you are installing the 08A-RPS-150P as a standalone unit, refer to

To install a 08A-RPS-150P in an RPS shelf, refer to
page 2-22.
Note: The power supply in the switch has automatic voltage sensing that allows connection to
power sources ranging from 100 to 240 VAC.
Note: If the CPU LED illuminates solid red, there was a critical failure. For more information about
the LED indications and troubleshooting, refer to
additional help, contact Enterasys Networks. Refer to

Note: The 08A-RPS-150P can also be installed in the old two-slot and eight-slot chassis,
C2RPS-CHAS2 and C2RPS-CHAS8.
