NOTE:
This example configures BPDU protection on specific interfaces.
However, starting with Junos OS Release 15.1 for EX Series and QFX Series
switches with support for the Enhanced Layer 2 Software (ELS) configuration
style, you can configure BPDU protection globally on all spanning tree
interfaces. See
on page 230
for additional information.
[edit]
user@switch# set protocols layer2-control bpdu-block interface ge-0/0/5
[edit]
user@switch# set protocols layer2-control bpdu-block interface ge-0/0/6
To configure BPDU protection for automatic shutdown.
To shutdown the BPDU interface on the downstream interface
1.
2:
[edit protocol layer 2]
user@switch# set bpdu-block interface ge-0/0/5
To shutdown the BPDU interface on the downstream interface
2.
2:
[edit protocol layer 2]
user@switch# set bpdu-block interface ge-0/0/6
Check the results of the configuration:
user@switch> show protocol layer 2
bpdu-block {
interface ge-0/0/5 {
interface ge-0/0/6 {
}
To confirm that the configuration is working properly, perform these tasks:
Displaying the Interface State Before BPDU Protection Is Triggered on page 227
Verifying That BPDU Shutdown Protection Is Working Correctly on page 228
Displaying the Interface State Before BPDU Protection Is Triggered
Before any BPDUs can be received on Switch 2 on either interface
ge-0/0/6
, confirm the state of those interfaces.
