Check:
Oil
cooler
Cracks/damage
->
Replace.

Oil cooler
inlet hose
• Oil

outlet
hose
Cracks/damage/wear->
Replace.

INSTALLING
THE
OIL COOLER
1. Clean:
Mating
surfaces of
the
oil
cooler and
the
crankcase
(with
a cloth
dampened with lacquer
thinner)
2.
Install:
0 -ring

TIP

Before
installing
the
oil
cooler,
apply engine
oil
lightly to
the
oil
cooler
union
bolt and apply
lith-
ium-soap-based
grease to
the
0 -ring.
Make
sure
the 0
-ring
is
positioned properly.
Align the projection
"a" on
the
oil cooler
with the
slot
"b"
in
the
crankcase.
• After
installing the
oil
cooler union
bolt,
bend
the tab
"c''
of
the
washer.

Cooling

the specified
amount
of
the
recom-
mended
coolant)
Refer to
"CHANGING
THE
COOLANT' on
page
3-26.
Crankcase
(with the specified
amount
of
the recom-
mended
engine oil)
Refer

"CHANGING THE ENGINE
OIL" on
page
3-23.
4.
Check:
Cooling
system
Leaks
-> Repair
or
replace
any
faulty
part.
Refer to
"INSTALLING
THE
RADIATOR"
on
page
6-2.
5.
Measure:
Radiator
cap opening pressure
Below the specified pressure

Replace
the
radiator
cap.
Refer
to "CHECKING THE
RADIATOR"
on
page
6-2.
