In first mode
If paper is already loaded on the MFF, it is picked without the
paper insertion request message. If paper is not loaded on the
MFF, the paper insertion request message is displayed.
In cassette mode
Whether or not paper is loaded on the MFF, the paper insertion
request message is displayed. If paper is already loaded on the
MFF, printing starts after you press
on the MFF, printing starts when you load paper.
You can select two or three paper sources at a time, but must select at
least one paper source. Tray 1, tray 2 (if installed), and MFF cassette
mode are all selected as factory default.
When two or three paper sources are selected for auto tray selection
(unlocked) and when a paper source runs out of paper or a paper
miss match error occurs, the printer switches the paper source for
another one.
To select a paper source for auto tray selection, follow these steps:
1. Make sure that the message display indicates
ONLINE and DATA indicators off.
2. Press the
SELECT

that tray 1 is selected for auto tray selection (unlocked).
3. Select or deselect a paper source.
Tray 2 is valid if it is installed. Pressing the
condition makes the asterisk disappear. Tray 1 is deselected.
Pressing the
ENTER
Tray 1 is selected.
