Assembling the compression damping fitting

The steps are identical for both fork legs.
Measure the run-out of the inner tube.
Inner tub run-out

If the measured value is greater than the specified value:
Change the inner tube.

Check the outer tube for damage.

If there is damage:
Change the outer tube.

Check the surface of the sliding bushing.

If the bronze-colored layer
Replace the sliding bushing.

If the measured value is greater than the specified value:
Reduce the thickness of the preload spacer.

If the measured value is less than the specified value:
Increase the thickness of the preload spacer.
Clamp the compression damping fitting in a bench vise using soft jaws.
Mount O-ring
Grease the O-ring.
