Adjusting the Margins − Margin Key
The dimensions of the margins around the image may be adjusted by
pressing the Margins key. By entering positive margins, blank space is
inserted around the image. To crop unwanted parts of the image, a negative
margin value may be entered.
Note: margins can only be adjusted when the 8825/8830 DDS is in the
COPY mode.
Margins are added to the image in one of two ways.
If the Synchro mode has been selected, the lead margin is added before the
image is printed, and the trail margin is added after the media cut signal is
received from the scanner. Thus, the length of the media from the Printer will
be the scanned document length, plus the lead margin and the trail margin.
Note: if a fixed media length has been selected (Preset or Manual), the
white space of the specified margin surrounds the image, but the actual
physical dimensions of the media remain as specified. The margins reduce
the allowable area on the media in which the image may be placed
