Remove the wheel bearings as follows:
• Insert the adapter
• After inserting the wedge bar
the wedge bar into the slit of the adapt er.
• Drive out both bearings by striking the wedge bar.
A CAUTION
The removed bearings should be replaced with new
ones.
FRONT AXLE
Measure the front axle runout using the dial gauge. If the
runout exceeds the limit, replace the front axle.
Service Limit: 0.25 mm (0.010 in)
WHEEL
Make sure that the wheel runout (axial and radial) does not
exceed the service limit when checked as shown. An ex-
cessive amount of runout is usually due to worn or loose
wheel bearings and can be corrected by replacing the
bearings. If bearing replacement fails to reduce the runout,
replace the wheel.
Service Limit (axial and radial): 2.0 mm (0.08 in)
SPOKE NIPPLE
Check to be sure that all nipples are tight, and retight en them
as necessary using a spoke nipple wrench.
nipple: 4.5 N-m (0.45 kg-m, 3.5 Ib-ft)
