• The settings remain intact even if you switch the unit to standby.
• Boxed items are the factory settings in the following diagram.
The QUICK SETUP enables successive settings of the items in the shaded area.
■ "Disc" menu
Audio
Choose the audio language.
Subtitle
Choose the subtitle language.
Menus
Choose the language for disc
menus.
Advanced Disc Review
Choose the mode for Advanced
Disc Review (➡ page 24).
Ratings
Set a ratings level to limit DVD-
Video play.

The original language of each disc is selected.

Input a code number with the numbered buttons (➡ Language code list, page 30).

If the language selected for "Audio" is not available, subtitles of that language automatically appear if available on
the disc.

Changing the menu language from QUICK SETUP (➡ page 12) also changes
this setting.
• Intro Mode : Plays the first few seconds of each title.
• Interval mode : Plays a few seconds of the disc at ten-minute intervals.
Setting ratings (When level 8 is selected)
• 8 No Limit
• 1 to 7: Prohibits play of DVD-Video with corresponding ratings recorded on
them.
• 0 Lock All: To prevent play of discs without ratings levels.
When you select your rating level, a password screen is shown.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Do not forget your password.
A message screen will be shown if a DVD-Video exceeding the ratings level
is inserted in the unit. Enter your password and then follow the on-screen
instructions.
