SLICK mode is designed
for racing tires (slick tires)
and assumes very good adhesion
z
values, as are usually found on
racetracks only.
Enable SLICK mode on race-
tracks only, and only with racing
tires.
In RACE and SLICK mode,
increased flip over risk is
present, as lift-off detection for
the rear wheel is deactivated. In
SLICK mode, there is additional
risk of injury, as ABS control on
the rear wheel is deactivated for
the case that the footbrake lever
is actuated only.
Be prepared for lift-off of the
rear wheel in the case of hard
braking.
Press button 1 repeatedly until
selection arrow appears before
desired setting.
If the motorcycle is stopped,
the selected riding mode is
immediately activated.
The new riding mode is acti-
vated during operation under
the following conditions:
Brakes not engaged.
Throttle turned back com-
pletely.
Clutch disengaged.
After the new riding mode is
activated, the selection menu
disappears.
The riding mode selected and
its associated engine-charac-
teristic, ABS, DTC and DDC
settings are retained even after
the ignition has been switched
off.
In SLICK riding mode the cur-
rent DTC fine tuning setting 5 is
shown as well.

Installing coding plug
When the coding plug is
used, the operating permit
for public roads is voided.
Do not use the encoding plug on
public roads.
Switch off ignition.
Removing driver's seat (
56).
