Connecting the Battery

Parts needed for this procedure:
A/R
Petroleum jelly (not supplied)
Procedure
1. Remove the clips securing the battery cover to the
battery box (Figure 4). Remove the cover from the
box.

WARNING
Battery terminals or metal tools could short
against metal processor components causing
sparks. Sparks can cause the battery gasses to
explode, resulting in personal injury.
• When removing or installing the battery, do
not allow the battery terminals to touch any
metal parts of the machine.
• Do not allow metal tools to short between try
terminals and metal parts of the machine.
2. Attach the positive cable (red cable) to the positive
(+) terminal (Figure 5).

WARNING
Incorrect battery cable routing could damage
the blower and cables causing sparks. Sparks
can cause the battery gasses to explode,
resulting in personal injury.
• Always disconnect the negative (black)
battery cable before disconnecting the
positive (red) cable.
• Always connect the positive (red) battery
cable before connecting the negative (black)
cable.

3. Attach the negative cable (black cable) to the negative
(-) terminal of the battery (Figure 5).
4. Coat the terminals and mounting fasteners with
petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion.
5. Install the battery cover and secure with the clips.
