Overheating protection

All the induction coils and cooling ele‐
ments for the electronics are fitted with
an overheating protection mechanism.
Before the induction coils or cooling el‐
ements get too hot, the overheating
protection mechanism cuts in in one of
the following ways:
Induction coils
– Any Booster function in operation will
be switched off.
– The set power level will be reduced.
– The cooking zone switches off auto‐
matically.  flashes in the timer dis‐
play alternating with .
You can use the cooking zones again
as usual when the fault message has
gone out.
Cooling elements
– Any Booster function in operation will
be switched off.
– The set power level will be reduced.
– The cooking zones switch off auto‐
matically.
The affected cooking zones can only be
used again as usual once the cooling
element has cooled down to a safe lev‐
el.

The overheating protection mechanism
can be triggered by:
– Heating up an empty pan.
– Fat or oil being heated on a high
power setting.
– Insufficient ventilation to the under‐
side of the cooktop.
– A hot cooking zone being switched
on after an interruption to the power
supply.
If, despite removing the cause, the
overheating protection mechanism trig‐
gers again, contact Miele.
