5 CONTROLS

5.1 THROTTLE CONTROL (A)_______________________________________________
Move the throttle lever forward to increase the engine speed
which in turn engages the centrifugal clutch thus driving the
machine. The direction of travel and blade engagement is
determined by the gearbox selection levers noted in 5.4 & 5.5
5.2
OPERATOR PRESENCE CONTROL (B)
Pushing the OPC down on the top handlebar allows the
operator to engage the transmission, forward / reverse of
mower. When any of these functions are engaged releasing
the OPC will stop the engine. The OPC may be released and
the engine continue to run only if the transmission is
disengaged
5.3
BRAKE (C)
The brake can be released when the operator is ready to move the machine. The brake may be used to slow the
forward movement of the machine if necessary but the engine speed should be reduced to release the clutch or
the OPC should be released to stop the engine.
5.4
FORWARD/REVERSE GEAR CHANGE (D) _________________________________
To obtain forward drive the lever (B) should be pushed to the
left and then down from the neutral position. It may be
necessary to momentarily increase the engine speed to ease
the gear into transmission.
For reverse drive the lever should be pushed to the left and
pulled upwards from the neutral position.
NOTE: It may be necessary to 'blip' the throttle to allow the
gear to engage.
5.5
CYLINDER DRIVE CLUTCH LEVER (E)
The clutch is engaged by pushing the lever (A) to the right and
then down. To disengage pull the lever upwards and locate in
slot at top of gate.
5.6
STARTER SWITCH (F)
This is turned clockwise to start the engine and anticlockwise
to stop the engine.
Circuit Breaker (G)
The circuit breaker protects the battery charging circuit. A
short circuit or battery connected in reverse polarity will trip the
circuit breaker. The green indicator inside the circuit breaker
will show the breaker has been tripped. If this occurs,
determine the cause of the problem. Correct the problem
before resetting the circuit breaker. Push the circuit breaker
button to reset.
