PROCEDURE 5
This Procedure Includes the Following:

Adjusting Armrest Height

Swing-Back Arms

Replacing Desk/Full Length Armrest Pad and
or Clothing Guards (Fixed Height Arms Only)
Removing or Replacing Armrest (9000 XT/

9000XT RECLINER/9000XDT Wheelchairs)

After making adjustments, always make sure
that parts are properly tightened BEFORE us-
ing the wheelchair.
NOTE: Refer to Procedure 1 - General Guidelines
which include GENERAL WARNINGS for the 9000SL,
9000XT, 9000XDT, and 9000XT RECLINER.
ADJUSTING ARMREST HEIGHT (FIGURE 1)
Make sure the height adjustment lever is in the
locked position before using the wheelchair.
1. Unlock the armrest by flipping the height adjust-
ment lever on the top front of the armrest to the
UP (HORIZONTAL) position.
2. Adjust armrest to one (1) of five (5) positions.
NOTE: Height adjustment lever MUST be in the
unlocked position when placing armrest into the
arm assembly.

3. Lock the armrest by pressing the height adjust-
ment lever into the DOWN (VERTICAL) posi-
tion when the desired armrest height is achieved.
4. Repeat STEPS 1-3 for other armrest.
SWING-BACK ARMS - 9000SL, 9000XT,
9000XDT (FIGURE 2)
Make sure the armrest release lever is in the
locked position before using the wheelchair.
NOTE: The 9000XT Recliner arms do not swing
back.
1. Unlock the swing-back arms by rotating the arm-
rest release lever towards the outside of the
wheelchair.
2. Pull the front of the swing-back arm straight up/
out of the arm socket and towards the rear of
the wheelchair.
3. To use the swing-back arm, push the swing-back
arm towards the front of the wheelchair and then
downward into the arm socket.
NOTE: Armrest release lever MUST be in the un-
locked position when placing armrest into the
arm sockets.
4. Lock the swing-back arms by rotating the arm-
rest release lever towards the inside of the
wheelchair.
