FOLDING AND UNFOLDING THE
WHEELCHAIR
WARNING
Keep hands and fingers clear of moving parts
to avoid injury.
TO OPEN:
1. Open the wheelchair by grasping the armrest of
the wheelchair closest to you.
2. Tilt the wheelchair towards you (raising the op-
posite wheel and caster off the ground/floor).
3. Push downward on the TOP of the seat rail clos-
est to you where the seat upholstery is attached
until the wheelchair is fully open.
4. RECLINERS ONLY - Secure the detached end
of the spreader bar to the side frame. Refer to
STORING/REPLACING THE SPREADER BAR
in PROCEDURE 10 of this manual.
5. Engage both wheel locks, open the footrest/
legrest for clearance and transfer into the wheel-
chair. Refer to TRANSFERRING TO AND FROM
OTHER SEATS in this section of the manual.
"HAMMOCK OR SLING SEAT" MODELS
TO CLOSE
1. FOR RECLINERS ONLY - Detach one end of
the spreader bar from the side frame. Refer to
STORING/REPLACING THE SPREADER BAR
in PROCEDURE 10 of this manual.
2. Swing footrest/legrest in locked position to the
front of the wheelchair.
3. Pivot footplates upward to vertical position.
4. With both hands, grasp the middle of the seat
upholstery at the front and back edge and lift up.
"HAMMOCK OR SLING SEAT" MODELS
SOLID SEAT MODELS
1. From behind the wheelchair, grasp the right hand
edge of the solid seat.
2. Raise the seat to the hinged side.
3. Remove the footrests/legrests from the wheel-
chair.
4. With both hands, grasp the middle of the seat
upholstery at the front and back edge and lift up.
Or, tilt the wheelchair to one side and close by
the push handles.
