Make sure the detent pin and locking pins of the
quick-release axle are fully released BEFORE

Keep locking pins clean.

axles with the head end to the inside of the wheel-

chair to prevent accidental release during con-

tact activities.

5. If the locking pins are not protruding past the in-

side of the axle bushing or there is too much move-
ment of the rear wheel assembly in a back and
forth position, refer to ADJUSTING THE QUICK-
RELEASE AXLE in this procedure of the manual.

NOTE: This procedure applies to ALL models.
1. Remove the rear wheel from the wheelchair. For
9000SL, 9000XT, and 9000XDT, refer to REMOV-
ING/INSTALLING THE REAR WHEELS in this
procedure of the manual. For 9000XT Recliner,
refer to REMOVING/INSTALLING THE REAR
WHEELS in PROCEDURE 10 of this manual.
2. Remove the mounting screws that secure the
handrim to the rear wheel.
3. Remove the existing handrim.
4. Install the NEW handrim by reversing the above
procedures.

quick-release axles (if applicable) are fully re-
leased BEFORE operating the wheelchair.
5. Reinstall rear wheel to the wheelchair. Refer to
REMOVING/INSTALLING THE REAR WHEELS
in this procedure of the manual.
6. If the locking pins of the quick-release axles (if
applicable) are not protruding past the inside of
the axle bushing or there is too much move-
ment of the rear wheel assembly in a back and
forth position, refer to ADJUSTING THE QUICK-
RELEASE AXLE in this procedure of the
manual.
7. Repeat the procedure for the opposite rear
wheel if necessary.
