Installing the Printer Driver to Windows 2000

(1) Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive of the computer.
(2) Click on [Start], select [Settings], then click on [Printers].
(3) Double-click on the [Add Printer] icon.
(4) Click on [Next].
(5) Select how the printer is to be controlled.
Local printer
Select "Local printer" when this printer is directly connected to the computer via a printer cable, or when this
printer is connected to a Peer-to-Peer network.
Network printer
Select "Network printer" when this printer is connected to the client-server network and is controlled by the NT
server.
* This printer does not support the Plug-and Play provided by Windows 2000. Do not check the "Automatically detect
and install my Plug and Play printer" checkbox.
(6) Click on [Next].
Go to Step 10 when "Local printer" is selected.
Go to Step 7 when "Network printer" is selected.
(7) Select how to locate the printer.
(8) Make a selection and click on [Next].
(9) Click on and highlight the printer to be installed, and then click on [Next].
(10) Select whether this printer is to be used as the default printer or not.
Make a choice only when another printer driver has already been installed in the computer.
(11) Click on [Finish].
The printer driver is installed.
(12) Select the port to be used on the [Select the Printer Port] screen.
Select "LPT1 Printer Port" when this printer is directly connected to the computer via the printer cable.
Select the port added in "Configuring the Peer-to-Peer Utility for TCP/IP" when this printer is connected to the
Peer-to-Peer network for TCP/IP .
Select the port added in "Configuring the Peer-to-Peer Utility for IPX/SPX" when this printer is connected to the
Peer-to-Peer network for IPX/SPX.
(13) Click on [Next].
(14) Click on [Have Disk...].
(15) In "Copy manufacturer's files from:", enter the name of the folder where the printer driver for Windows NT 4.0 is
contained.
(16) Click on [OK].
(17) Select the printer to be used, then click on [Next].
(18) If necessary, change "Printer name", then click on [Next].
(19) Select "Do not share this printer", then click on [Next].
(20) Select whether or not the test print is to be performed, then click on [Next].
(21) Click on [Finish].
(22) Click on [Yes] to complete installation. Note that though the [Digital Signature Not Found] screen appears, there is no
impact upon the printer driver installation.
