Technically, it was not possible to incorporate this diode
into the fiber interface because it is allowed to power a
significant part of the optical network from this external
power supply, with up to 5 A load. With a load of 5 A,
the power dissipation of the diode would be such that
the internal temperature of the fiber interface would
become too high. The diode should be specified for at
least 50 V reverse voltage and a maximum current
bigger than what can be expected from the connected
load.

Mounting

The fiber interface can be mounted to a wall or any
other flat surface using a bracket. See figure 19.5 for
more information. The distance between the holes in
the bracket (d) is 40 mm.

Press the sides of the unit to snap it in and out of the
bracket.
