6.9.2 What Is Smart Matching? The Smart Matching feature detects the location of the saved base image (a template) within the search area (a specified area). If as many images as you have set were detected after searching, the positions (X/Y coordinate values), the Rotation Angle, and similarity degree (a correlation value) of a template is output and then the object will be judged as "OK".
Page 123
Subtraction The Subtraction function extracts a pixel that exceeds a certain degree of the difference in the gray value when the detected image overlaps the template. With this feature, you can detect the subtraction parts that are difficult to reflect a correlation value and judged based on the number of subtraction parts more than a certain size. In addition, you can filter (expand or contract) the subtraction parts.
6.9.3 Setting Procedure Inspection Conditions Proceed up to “Configure the setting for preprocessing” at the third step following section 6.2.1. Select “Detection Object”. 6.11.2 What Is Flaw Detection? The Flaw Detection function detects fine flaws, burs, missing edges and dirt (, which are generally called as “flaw” in this manual). This function detects flaws based on the difference in the brightness of each segmented area. The Flaw Detection function is suitable not only for detecting flaws on the line edges of the object but also for detecting flaws on the round edges of the object.
Page 139
Principle of Flaw Detection function A Flaw Detection checker is executed in either of the following inspection modes. If the PV310 failed to detect any flaw after testing in Differential mode, try to test again after switching to Gray Range mode. It is effective when you let the PV310 inspect the object surface of uneven brightness, but it will take longer time to process the image in Gray Range mode than in Differential mode.
Page 140
If inspection mode = “Gray Range” Process description Process image Creates rectangular areas (, which are called cells) of any size within the inspection area and calculates the brightness of each area (average gray value).
