Removing and cleaning the brew unit
by hand
Clean the brew unit by hand only us‐
ing warm water. Do not use washing-
up liquid. The moving parts of the
brew unit are lubricated. Washing-up
liquid will damage the brew unit.
The brew unit can be removed for
cleaning.
It should be cleaned once a week.
 Open the appliance door.
 Remove the water container, waste
container and the coffee chute cover.
 Press the button under the handle of
the brew unit  and, whilst doing so,
turn the handle clockwise .
 Press the catch in front of the brew
unit  downwards, and pull the brew
unit carefully out of the machine.
 Carefully pull the brew unit out of the
coffee machine.
If you cannot remove the brew unit or
can only do so with difficulty, the brew
unit is not in the correct position (See
"Problem solving guide").
Cleaning and care
When you take the brew unit out of
the machine, do not change the po‐
sition of the brew unit handle, as this
would cause the brew unit to be out
of alignment and you will not be able
to push it back into the coffee ma‐
chine.
 Clean the brew unit by hand under
warm running water without using
washing-up liquid.
 Wipe any remaining coffee off the
two filters. One filter is located in the
funnel and the other to the left of the
funnel.
 Dry the funnel to prevent ground cof‐
fee sticking to it the next time a cof‐
fee is prepared.
 Clean the inside of the coffee ma‐
chine. Use your vacuum cleaner to
remove dry coffee grounds.
To refit the brew unit:
 Proceed in the reverse order: push
the brew unit back into the coffee
machine, making sure it goes in
straight.
