Warning and Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions before
using this machine for the first time. This
way you will avoid the risk of accidents and
damage to the machine.
TAKE FOOT OFF PEDAL SWITCH to
raise the heater plate during operation.
This ironer must be operated at all times
in accordance with the legal requirements
of the Health and Safety Acts.
Only iron articles with this ironer which are
suitable for machine ironing and which
were washed in water.
Please allow only fully trained personnel
to work at the feed-in side.
Never allow children to play on or near
the rotary ironer, or to operate it them-
selves.
When working with the ironer always wear
close fitting clothes. Wide sleeves, apron
strings or scarves could be taken in by the
roller. Remove any rings, bracelets, or other
jewellery before starting to work. Tie back
long hair.
When the ironer is heated up there is an
acute danger of burning,
if the heater plate is touched
if fingers and or hands are positioned be-
tween the raised roller and the heater plate
to smooth the article to be ironed and the
foot pedal switch is pressed down at the
same time.
Never drape items over the heated heater
plate. This is a fire hazard. Use the swing
out bar for hanging laundry.
Do not damage, remove or bypass the
safety components, fixtures, and control
elements of the machine.
If the controls or the mains lead insulation
of the machine are damaged the machine
must be inspected and repaired by a compe-
tent service engineer before being used again.

The electrical safety of this appliance can
only be guaranteed when continuity is
complete between the appliance and an effec-
tive earthing system which complies with local
and national regulations. It is most important
that this basic safety requirement is regularly
tested by a qualified electrician.
Repairs to the machine should only be
undertaken by a suitably qualified service
engineer to ensure safety. Unauthorized
repairs could be dangerous.
Faulty components must only be ex-
changed for Miele original spare parts.
Only when these parts are fitted can the
safety standards of the machine be guaran-
teed.
The machine is only completely isolated
from the electricity supply either when it is
switched off at the wall socket, or the plug is
withdrawn from the socket, or the mains fuse
withdrawn.
Any removable outer panels must be back
in place, and all moving or electrical parts
shielded before the machine is operated.
In countries where there are areas which
may be subject to intestation by cock-
roaches or other vermin, pay particular atten-
tion to keeping the appliance and its surround-
ings in a clean condition at all times. Any
damage which might be caused by cock-
roaches or other vermin will not be covered
by the appliance guarantee.
Accessories
Accessory parts may only be fitted when
expressly approved by Miele. If other parts are
used, guarantee, performance and product
liability claims may be invalidated.
Any personnel who use the machine at a later
date must be made aware of these safety
instructions, and have them explained.
Keep these instructions in a safe place.
