    EMI Warning ® Shoprider s cooters may be susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI), which is a kind of interfering e lec trom agnetic energy (E M) emitted from sources such as radio stations, TV stations, amateur radio (HAM) trans mitters , two-way radio, and cellu lar phones . The interferenc e (from radio wave sources) can cause the s cooter to release its brakes , move by itself, or move in unintended directions .

    ADJUSTMENTS T iller Angle Adjustment (Fig. 1) The tiller c an be adjusted to five different positions. To decide whic h position bes t fits your needs, c arefully pull the large b lack ball that is loc ated on the left hand side, at the joint bas e of tiller, and gently lower or rais e the tiller to s elec t require angle.
  • Page 9 Seat Slide & Swivel Adjustment (Fig. 4) Pulling up on the seat s lide lever allows the s eat position to be ad justed forward or bac kward. Release the lever and the seat will lock in that pos ition. Under the right s ide of the s eat the re is a spring loaded red lever.

    SCOOTER TILLER CONTROLS (Fig. 7) Fig. 7 (1 & 2) Speed Controls The s peed c ontrol allows you to set a speed between 1 (minim um) and 10 (maximum ). Turn the d ial knob counter-c lockwis e to “minimum” to dec reas e s peed, and clockwise towards “maximum”...
  • Page 11 (6) Thumb/Finger Lever Controls The left thumb/finger lever c ontrols the reverse and the right thumb/finger lever c ontrols the forward motion. The amount of p ressure applied to each lever will determine the speed the scooter tra vels at. Release the le ver and the s cooter will s lowly c ome to a stop and the electromagnetic brake will be applied.

    FREE WHEEL OPERATION (Fig. 8) The free wheel re leas e lever (red handle ) is located inside the right rear wheel. To disengage the motor, lift up the lever (the s cooter can now be pushed). To re-engage the motor pus h down on the lever.

    STARTING TO DRIVE YOUR SCOOTER Getting Starte d • Select a level area with p lenty o f s pac e. • Mount the sc ooter, either by lifting the arm and sliding on to the seat or rotate the seat outwards and then rotate the seat bac k to fac e the tiller.

    EXTRA GUIDELINES IN THE CONTROL OF YOUR SCOOTER Ramps The s tability of your s cooter is governed b y s everal factors s uc h as the seating pos ition, the angle of the slope and your height and weight. When approaching an incline, do so directly and not at an angle and whenever possible avoid making turns.
