Continue to hold the stop switch in until
the engine is completely stopped. If the
switch is released before the engine
has completely stopped, it may restart.
If the engine does not shut down, see
Emergency Shutdown on page 53 .
5. Wait 10 seconds or more before turning
the battery switch off for secure system
settle down.
6. Turn off the battery switch (if equipped).
7. Close the fuel cock.
8. Close the seacock (if equipped).
• Be sure to close the seacock.
Neglecting to close the seacock could
allow water to leak into the boat and
may cause it to sink.
• If seawater is left inside the engine, it
may freeze and damage parts of the
cooling system when the ambient
temperature is below 0°C (32°F).

ENGINE OPERATION
Emergency Shutdown
Never use the emergency stop switch for a
normal engine shutdown. Use this switch
only when stopping the engine suddenly in
an emergency.

stop switch on the panel, stop the engine
by pushing the stop switch on the ECU
box.
