ENGINE OPERATION

Emergency Shutdown

Never use the emergency stop switch for a
normal engine shutdown. Use this switch
only when stopping the engine suddenly in
an emergency.

If the engine cannot be shut down by the
stop switch on the panel, stop the engine
by pushing the button (Figure 5, (1)) at the
back of the stop solenoid (Figure 5, (2)).

If the engine cannot be shut down by the
stop switch on the panel, stop the engine
by moving the stop lever (Figure 6, (2)) by
hand to the left (Figure 6, (1)). The lever is
attached to the fuel injection pump.
WARNING
Sever Hazard.
Always keep hands, body parts and
loose-fitting clothes away from moving /
rotating parts such as the flywheel or
PTO shaft.
CHECKING THE ENGINE
AFTER OPERATION
• Check that the power switch is off and
that the battery switch (if equipped) is
turned to off.
• Fill the fuel tank. See Filling the Fuel
Tank on page 37.
• Close seawater cock(s).
• If there is a risk of freezing, check that
the cooling system contains enough
coolant. See Engine Coolant
Specifications on page 43.
• If there is a risk of freezing, drain the
seawater system. See Drain Seawater
Cooling System on page 94.
• At temperatures below 0°C (32°F), drain
seawater system and connect the
engine heater (if equipped).
