UsingSnow Thrower to ClearSnow
CAUTION: Check t he areato becleared for foreignobjects. R emove f oreignobjects,
if any.
1.
Startthe enginefollowingstartinginstructions.
2.
Allowthe engineto warmupfora fewminutesasthe enginewill not
develop full poweruntil it reaches o peratingtemperature.
3.
Rotatethe chuteassembly t o the desired direction, a wayfrom bystanders
and/orbuildings.
4.
Makingcertainnobystanders or obstacles a reinfront of the unit, squeeze
the augercontrolcompletely against t he upperhandletofully engage the
auger.
5.
WNlethe augercontrol i sengaged, s queeze the drivecontrol c ompletely
against t he upperhandleto engage the wheels.Donot "feather"the drive
control.
6.
Asthe snowthrowerstartsto move,maintainafirm holdonthe handle, a nd
guidethe snowthroweralongthe pathto becleared.
7.
Release t he augeranddrivecontrols to stopthe snowthrowingactionand
forwardmotion.
8.
NOTE:Your unit isequipped with a clutchinthe transmission. Ifthe wheels
stopturningwhiletrying to discharge l argevolumes of snow,immediately
disengage t he drivecontrolandallowthe rotatingaugerto discharge s now
fromthe housing. R educe theclearingwidth andcontinueoperation.
Oneachsucceeding p ass, r eadjust t he chuteassembly t o the desiredposition
andslightlyoverlapthe previously clearedpath.
PositioningDischarge Chute
Loosen the chuteknobandpivotupperchuteto desired position.Tighten the chute
knobmakingsurethecarriageboltiscorrectlypositioned. R aising t he chutethrows
snowfurther.

Rotatechutehandleto desired operatingposition.
Replacing ShearPins
Theaugerissecured tothe spiralshaftwith two shear p insandbow-tieclips.If
the augershouldstrikeaforeignobjector icejam, the snowthrowerisdesigned
sothatthe shear p insmayshear. I faugerwill not turn,checkto seeif the pinshave
sheared. S ee Figure 10.
NEVER replacethe augershearpinswith anything other than OEMPartNo.

Anydamageto the snowthrower asaresult offailing to do sowill NOT be
coveredbyyour snowthrower's warranty.
Alwaysturn off the snowthrower's engineand removethe keyprior to
replacingshearpins.

Donotlift the snowthrower at anytime by the chutehandle.
OperatingTips
1.
Formostefficient s now removal, remove snow immediately a fterit falls.
2.
Discharge s nowdownwindwhenever possible. S lightly overlapeachprevious
path.
3.
Setthe skidshoes1/4"belowthe shaveplatefornormalusage. T heskid
shoes maybeadjustedupwardforhard-packed snow.
NOTE: It isnot recommended t hatyouoperatethissnowthrowerongravel
asloosegravel c anbeeasilypickedupandthrownbythe augercausing
personal injury and/ordamage to the snowthrower.
4.
If youchoose to operate the snowthroweron gravel,keepthe skidshoein
the lowestpositionformaximum clearance b etweenthe groundandthe
shave plate.
5.
Clean the snowthrowerthoroughlyaftereachuse.
