Disc drawer fails to open
Drawer fails to open or
close when the Open/Close
button is operated.
Cause:
Only the PCM output of the PDP 3000 HV is connected to the amplifier.
Remedy 1:
Connect the DSD (All Format Out) output of the PDP 3000 HV to your amplifier,
and change the output configuration in the System Configuration menu to
DSD + PCM.
Remedy 2:
Use separate cables for DSD and PCM playback, and connect the DSD (All
Format Out) output of the PDP 3000 HV to your amplifier as well. Change the
output configuration in the System Configuration menu to DSD / PCM.
Cause:
Mechanical blockage, jammed disc, faulty disc mechanism.
Remedy:
Open the disc drawer by hand.
Before you do this, the device must be isolated from the mains supply: this is
accomplished by withdrawing both mains plugs. The disc drawer can now be
extended manually using a 4 mm allen key inserted in the opening in the back
panel (see illustration below): turn the allen key in the direction of the arrow
until the drawer is fully extended.
Cause:
During the closing process the drawer was prevented from closing correctly,
typically by an obstacle, and this has triggered the safety coupling.
Remedy:
The drawer actuating system is fitted with a safety coupling which prevents
damage to the machine if a mechanical blockage should occur. If the safety
coupling is triggered, it can be re-engaged as described in Service Note 115.
Please contact a  service workshop.
