You cannot manage your voice tags by pressing
Contacts
on the Home screen.
Voice dialing modes
Voice dialing has three modes, voice, digits, and main.
As a general rule, you can leave the default setting as
Main
.
Names
. Recognizes the voice tags you record for
contact numbers, for example, "Bob."
Digits
. Recognizes any phone number said in the
selected language (English US or English UK). You
do not need to record the digits. However, if the
phone has trouble recognizing your speech, you
can record the digits to train or personalize the
phone.
Main
. The default mode, which combines both
Digits and Names modes. This mode also recog-
nizes commands.
Commands
The phone recognizes four commands:
Call ("name")
Dial ("number")
Contacts (displays Contact list)
Calendar (displays your calendar)
Press and hold
the Record button just below the On/
Off button, to display the Say Command screen. If you

are in Main mode, you say a preset command to
activate or start a function on your phone.
Note
: If you press and release the Record button
quickly, you start the Memo record function.
Don't start speaking until
you see the "Speak now"
indicator!
To use a command:

Press and hold the Record button.

Wait for the "Say Command" prompt. Speak the
command when the display shows

If you are calling a name or a number, listen for
the "Say Name" or "Say Number" prompt. Speak
the name or number when you see the
Now
indicator.
For example, to verbally dial a number, say
for the Speak Now prompt, then speak the number (
4-9
). To call a person, say
Making and Answering Calls
Speak now
Speak
Dial
, wait
Call
, wait, speak the name.
