3. Remove the rubber mat.
4. Insert and press the ignition key
into the slot.
5. Shift to neutral (N).
6. Remove the key from the slot.
7. Reinstall the rubber mat.
8. Have your vehicle repaired as
soon as possible.
Warning
To help prevent damage to the
transmission, observe the
following precautions:
Do not press the accelerator
pedal while shifting from P or N to
R or a forward gear.
To do so may not only damage
the transmission, but could cause
you to lose control of the vehicle.
Use D as much as possible.
Never shift to P or R while the
vehicle is in motion.
Driving and Operating
Warning (Continued)
When stopping the vehicle on an
uphill gradient, do not hold the
vehicle in place by pressing the
accelerator pedal. Use the foot
brake.
Press the brake pedal when
shifting from P or N to R or a
forward gear.
Otherwise transmission could be
damaged or vehicle could move
unexpectedly, causing driver to
lose control of the vehicle,
resulting in personal injury or
damage to the vehicle or other
property.
