FAULTS

4.1 POSSIBLE REASONS
Possible reasons for the gas fi re going out are:
• Atmosphere protection (= "oxy-stop" pilot fl ame) reacts (= pilot fl ame extinguishes)
when the fl ue gases are insuffi ciently exhausted.
• Atmosphere protection (= "oxy-stop" pilot fl ame) is contaminated or defective.
• Insuffi cient gas pressure.
• Thermocouple voltage is too low. This is usually caused by insuffi cient heating of the
thermocouple by the pilot light.
• Dirty electrical contacts in the thermo-electrical system; for example, the
thermocouple connection.
• Batteries in receiver or remote control are fl at.
4.2 SAFETY MEASURE IN THE APPLIANCE
4.2.1 Thermo-electric pilot light shut off
The appliance is protected by means of a thermo-electric pilot light shut off in the event
of a gas escape from the main burner.
4.2.2 Atmosphere protection (fl ue exhaust protection) (= "oxy-stop" pilot light)
Also the appliance is fi tted with an atmosphere protection facility. This is an "oxy-stop"
pilot fl ame that turns off the burner if the fl ue gas is insuffi ciently exhausted
When the fl ame is blue and hazy (when the appliance is burning for some time), this
means that combustion is not correct, and that the "oxy-stop" will be activated within a
certain period.
If the "oxy-stop" pilot fl ame is activated then check that the air supply and the fl ue ex-
haust are open. Following isolation of the cause, the appliance can be put back into
operation.
Always contact your installer in the event of continual problems.
It is not permitted to disable or modify the protection.
In the event that the "oxy-stop" pilot fl ame is to be replaced, then only the original model
should be applied.
This atmosphere protection; the "oxy-stop" pilot light, is not a substitute for an
independent-mounted carbon monoxide detector.
