Maintenance

Shaking & Changing Ink Cartridges
The White and Metallic Silver cartridges must each be removed and shaken for 30
seconds every 24 hours. It is best to do this before your print session.
If you are prompted to change an ink cartridge, get a fresh one from the cabinet, shake
it, and install in the printer. Place the old cartridge in the blue bin above the cabinet for
recycling.
Nozzle Checks & Cleanings
It is highly advisable to perform a nozzle check and cleaning before your print session,
and any time you see white lines or banding in your prints.
1. On the printer control panel press the maintenance shortcut button (or go to Menu
> Maintenance)
2. Select the Nozzle Check option.
3. Select print at Left or Right (doesn't matter, but right is a little quicker)
4. After printing, examine your nozzle check pattern. If there are gaps, perform a
cleaning.
5. To clean the nozzles, return to the maintenance menu and select ‟Cleaning‟.
Choose either ‟All Nozzles‟ or ‟Selected Nozzles‟.

All Nozzles: Select Head1/Head2, then choose Execute Light, Medium, Heavy,
depending on the degree of nozzle clogs. Usually Light or Medium is sufficient.
Selected Nozzles: Use the ▲ ,▼, and ‟OK‟ buttons to select nozzles to clean.
Scroll down to the bottom of the list to select ‟Proceed‟ to begin cleaning.

6. Print another nozzle check to confirm the cleaning effectiveness, and if necessary
repeat the cleaning.
