Turning off the display

— Power Saving Mode

The clock display can be turned off to minimize
the amount of power consumed during standby
(Power Saving Mode).
Press DISPLAY on the remote.
To cancel Power Saving Mode
Press DISPLAY on the remote.
Note
You cannot perform the following operations in Power
Saving Mode.
– setting the clock
– changing the AM tuning interval (except for Middle
Eastern model)
– turning on the system by pressing the function
buttons
– changing the CD power manage function
Tips
• The ?/1 indicator lights up even in the Power
Saving Mode.
• The timer continues to operate in Power Saving
Mode.
Adjusting the brightness
of the display's backlight
You can change the brightness of the display's

backlight.

Use buttons on the remote for the operation.

Press DISPLAY repeatedly until
"DIMMER X" appears.

Press ./> repeatedly.
Each time you press the button, the
brightness changes cyclically as follows:
DIMMER 0 t DIMMER 1 t DIMMER

Viewing information
about the disc in the
display
You can check the playing time of the current
track or remaining time of the disc.
Checking the remaining time
and titles (VIDEO CD/CD/MP3)
Press DISPLAY on the remote repeatedly.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes cyclically as follows:
x When playing a CD/MP3/VIDEO CD
without PBC function (Ver. 1.1)
Current track number and elapsed playing time
of the track t Remaining time of the disc
Track name of MP3 audio track t Album name
of MP3 audio track t Clock display (for six
seconds) t DIMMER X (for six seconds)

This is not displayed during playback of MP3 audio
tracks.
x When playing a VIDEO CD with PBC
function (Ver. 2.0)
Elapsed playing time of the track
display (for six seconds) t DIMMER X (for
six seconds)
*
The elapsed playing time may not be displayed in
some cases such as during still image playback.
