The computers on today's market commonly use
protocols that are "Unblocked ." Unblocked
protocols do not use a command to specify a
block of data and there is no block length limi-

The printer
continues to accept data from the computer un-
til the print buffer has room left for no more
than 256 characters. At that time the printer
sends a busy signal to the computer, stopping
transmission of any more data until the print
buffer is emptied or 200ms have elapsed (which-
ever is longer)

A block protocol that permits the computer to
transmit data until the print
buffe
