Installing and Removing Hard Drives

The F424BD chassis contains four individual motherboards in four separate 2U
nodes. Each motherboard node controls the hard drives contained within that
node. Note that if a motherboard node is pulled out of the chassis, the hard drives
associated with that node will power down as well. Refer to the chart below for the
chassis confi guration. hot-swappable hard drives can be removed from the chassis
without powering down the server or removing the node from the chassis.
Only enterprise level hard drives are recommended for use in Supermicro chassis.
